Job Search in India

Job Search in India

This is probably the most important consideration for R2I'ers, what am i going to do in India.

A good job will help you tide the problems associated with India.

I did not look for a job so lot of my information is second hand but i have observed the following

  1. Job market is tough especially management positions. Ensure you have the job lined up before coming to India.
  2. Head hunters/HR Recruiters are a good way to get in
  3. Project Management/Manager designation is not the same as what it is in the US (it is a fairly junior level position at most services companies)
  4. Interviews in Product companies (Amazon, Groupon etc) include the old puzzles and brain twisters even for non-core IT jobs.
  5. Hours are long

More to come ...
